Why do I get a license error message in SIMATIC PDM although all the necessary licenses are available?

  • Entry
  • Associated product(s)

Description:
A license error message from SIMATIC PDM can basically have three reasons:

  1. Authorizations are available, but are not recognized. This is extremely rare. In this case you have to play the licenses back to the floppy disk, restart the computer and transfer the licenses back again from the floppy disk to the computer.
  1. The license for SIMATIC PDM is indeed available, but it is not the right version. The license for SIMATIC PDM Standalone must always be installed. It is a basic license and the only one that has to be updated with a new version of SIMATIC PDM. Below is a list of the licenses of SIMATIC PDM Standalone specifying the associated version of SIMATIC PDM:

Designation of the authorization

Valid for:

SIK/SIMATIC PDM Basis Standalone

Versions of PDM before PDM V5.0.1.

SIK/SIMATIC PDM Basis Standalone V5

PDM V5.0.1. / PDM V5.0.2. (+SP1)

SIK/SIMATIC PDM Basis Standalone V5.1
