Street Light Control with LOGO! 8 and LOGO! CMR (Set 1)
For street lights, factors like remote control, networking and potential energy saving are becoming increasingly important. With this in mind, the street lights in a street shall be automatically switched on and off at sunset and sunrise. In addition, it may be possible to set the switch-on time of the street light locally on site or individually via SMS.
The figure below shows an overview of the most important components of the solution:
In the automation solution, the street light is controlled with a LOGO! 8 connected to a LOGO! CMR20x0. Setting a manual street light control (user-defined mode) or an automatic control (astro clock mode) can be performed via SMS or LOGO! TDE. In astro clock mode, the street light is switched off in the morning and back on at night using the “Astronomical clock” function. In user-defined mode, a user-defined time of day can be entered via LOGO! display or LOGO! TDE at which the street light shall be switched on the day after. The time of day of the LOGO! controller is synchronized with an NTP server using LOGO! CMR20x0, so LOGO! constantly has the correct UTC time.
This application offers you the following advantages:
- Energy saving by automatically switching the street lights on and off at sunset and sunrise.
- Cost-efficient remote access for setting the switch-on time of the street lights via SMS.
