When upgrading, please refer to the instructions, Chapter "Firmware update" in the operating instructions of the particular Control Unit.

Note
:

The zip file on the SD memory card must be unzipped to the root directory.
An SD memory card with at least 256 MB must be used.
Memory cards larger than 2 GB are not supported.
The SD-CARD 512 MB EMPTY can be ordered by specifying the following order number 6SL3054-4AG00-2AA0.

From version V4.7 HF3, the runtime SINAMICS G120 firmware is not subject to any export restrictions as the output frequency has been limited to 550 Hz.
It is not subject to the Iran embargo, and is not listed in the EC Dual Use regulation. (AL = N).

STARTER

Within the scope of firmware version V4.7 SP3, the new STARTER V4.4 SP1 is made available (see product information109475420 and is available as download under 26233208).


As an alternative to installing STARTER V4.4 SP1, with the installation of the available SINAMICS Support Packages (SSP) for firmware V4.7 SP3 (see 109476629) existing STARTER installations can be supplemented. The required STARTER version is specified in the appropriate SSP readme file.

With the SSP, new functions can be configured in the V4.7 SP3 firmware using STARTER.

Within the scope of revising and simplifying the commissioning wizards, SINAMICS application classes "Standard Drive Control", "Dynamic Drive Control" and "Expert" have been introduced.

 

For "Standard Drive Control", after the commissioning wizards have been completed and when the drive is switched on for the first time, a shortened motor data identification routine is carried out, and then the drive is immediately ramped-up to the setpoint (p1900 = 12). This setting cannot be changed.

 

For "Dynamic Drive Control", as default setting, a shortened motor data identification routine is selected after the drive is switched on for the first time and then it ramps-up to the setpoint (p1900 = 12). The motor data identification routine can be configured. A rotating measurement is recommended to achieve a higher accuracy and dynamic performance of the closed-loop control. For the motor data identification routine, you can select during commissioning whether the drive shall run up directly to the setpoint or whether another Power ON command is required.

 

Under "Expert", you will find the traditional wizard providing a multitude of setting options.
With this setting, you can configure the motor data identification routine. For the motor data identification routine, while commissioning you can select whether the drive should immediately ramp-up to the setpoint, or a new switch-on command is required.

When selecting motor data identification (motor ID) with subsequent ramp-up to the setpoint speed (p1900 = 11 or 12; 12=standard setting with "Standard Drive Control" and "Dynamic Drive Control"), the motor is, upon the first Power ON command, directly accelerated to the setpoint speed, following a short delay time caused by the motor ID (approx. 8 to 30 s). For additional information, see 109480663.

 

In order to be able to use the revised commissioning wizards for G120 Control Units with PM240, PM240-2 and PM330, as well as for G120C, it is absolutely necessary to upgrade STARTER to version V4.4 SP1.

  

Startdrive

Within the scope of firmware version V4.7 SP3, for Startdrive V13 SP1 (see 107657741) Support Package V4.7 SP3 is available (see 109477753).

When importing the Support Packages in an existing Startdrive V13 SP1 installation, new functions in firmware V4.7 SP3 can be used with Startdrive. Included here is the revised commissioning wizard, which can be used with SINAMICS G120 Control Units in conjunction with PM240, PM240-2, PM330 Power Modules and with G120C.

IOP/BOP-2

With firmware version V4.7 SP3, the commissioning wizard has been revised and the IOP has been supplemented to include extended manual operation. The revised commissioning wizard, which can be used with SINAMICS G120 Control Units in conjunction with PM240, PM240-2, PM330 Power Modules and with G120C.

 

Within the scope of revising and simplifying the commissioning wizards, SINAMICS application classes "Standard Drive Control", "Dynamic Drive Control" and "Expert" have been introduced.

Expanded functionality is supported with the new IOP version from V1.6 and higher. A complete overview of the expanded functionality for IOP V1.6 can be taken from the sales and delivery release109476464. In order to upgrade an existing IOP the entry ID also includes an IOP firmware download.

The BOP-2 operator panel (Order No.: 6SL3255-0AA00-4CA1) is automatically updated when using firmware V4.7 SP3.
