Version V4.4 SP1 includes the following function extensions:

  • Cross-device STARTER function extensions
    • SINUMERIK users were unable to use the STARTER version V4.4 HF3. This restriction has been lifted with STARTER V4.4 SP1 (TFS 353402).
    • Usability improvements with Safety screens for the following functions:
      • Checkbox for activation of “Execute test stop automatically during run-up" as an alternative to BICO control
      • Standardization of acknowledgment with component replacements;
The component replacement is detected following CRC and is presented with F1640/F1641 (Component replaced -> partial acceptance test required). The required actions are described with F1650.
      • Parameter copy function for the second encoder in a dual encoder system with HTL/TTL
    • Expansions with know-how protection
      Device-specific display of the write and know-how protection status in the project tree using icons;
changes to the consistency display (upload and download not possible).
    • Trace: The scaling frequency response is saved with a repeat measurement.
    • Scripts are called via a button in the configuration screen (improvements to customer-specific archiving of scripts in pre-defined folders).
    • Improved STARTER performance when applying devices in the STARTER project.
  • SINAMICS S110
    • Support for firmware version V4.4 SP3 for the use of PM240-2
  • SINAMICS G110/G110M/G120-2/G120C/G120D-2/G120P
    • Encoderless 1FG1 geared synchronous motors are supported
Please take note of the following FAQ 109477002.
    • 1FP1 reluctance motors are supported with the CU230P-2 (with PM240-2)
    • Line contactor control using a digital output of the inverter to save energy when the motor is switched off.
    • SSI motor encoder support for G120D-2
    • New firmware version V4.7 SP3
With the SINAMICS Firmware Version V4.7 SP3 (see 109476414), the commissioning wizard for Control Units G120 with PM240, PM240-2 and PM330, as well as for G120C has been reworked. The three new SINAMICS application classes Standard and Dynamic Drive Control as well as Expert are offered, which are automatically preset in accordance with the SINAMICS G120 power unit used. The SINAMICS application classes simplify commissioning and ensure rugged motor control. For this, a motor data identification is performed once when switching on the drive for the first time.
      Warning

If a motor data identification routine (motor ID) with subsequent run-up to the setpoint speed is selected (p1900 = 11 or 12; 12 = standard setting for "Standard Drive Control" and "Dynamic Drive Control"), then, with the first switch-on command, after a short delay time, caused by the motor ID (approx. 8 to 30 sec), the motor is immediately accelerated up to the setpoint speed. For further information, see 109480663.

In order to be able to use the revised commissioning wizards, it is absolutely necessary to upgrade STARTER to version V4.4 SP1.
Note on SIMOTION SCOUT and S7 technology (S7T config): Upgrading to STARTER V4.4 SP1 is not possible in these systems.

Installation versions
STARTER can be operated in the following installation versions:

  • STARTER Standalone
  • STARTER integrated in STEP 7 for applications with SIMATIC S7
  • STARTER integrated in SIMOTION SCOUT or SIMATIC S7 technology (does not apply to V4.4 SP1!)

Sources of supply for SINAMICS MICROMASTER STARTER

  • This (the current) STARTER version can be ordered under the article number (MLFB) 6SL3072-0AA00-0AG0 on DVD incl. the license certificate.
There is a token fee of €29.29 for order processing.
  • This current STARTER version (V4.4 SP1 or more recent) can also be downloaded under 26233208.
The download can be used by anyone who already has a STARTER license certificate of any version.

SINAMICS MICROMASTER STARTER can be used free of charge.

Information about the installation and the opening of existing projects:
STARTER V4.4 SP1 can only be installed with administrator rights on the programming device/PC.
User rights are sufficient to operate STARTER
(exception: Adding additional programming device/PC interfaces).

STARTER V4.4 SP1 only has one setup for both installation versions ("STARTER Standalone" and "STARTER DriveES").

  • If no STEP 7 is available, the standalone version will be installed on your computer.
  • If there is a STEP 7 installation on your computer, the Drive ES version will be installed/updated.
(Note: Drive ES Basic no longer needs to be installed as a prerequisite (as of STARTER V4.3 SP2!)).

Support
A Guided Tour can be downloaded which facilitates familiarization with the STARTER (see 21110668).

Note on STARTER and other engineering software
Simultaneous operation of the STARTER, SIMOTION SCOUT and SIMATIC S7-Technology versions in a shared partition on one programming device/PC is not supported.

STARTER and Startdrive V12, V12 SP1, V13 or V13 SP1 can be installed in parallel on a shared partition and operated simultaneously.

Important note for installation in context with SIMATIC PCS 7:
SIMATIC PCS 7 CiR capability (configuration in run) for existing projects with Siemens drives at PROFIBUS DP or PROFINET IO

Affected User/Project Scenario

The loss of the CiR capability of SIMATIC PCS 7 can be caused by the following SW update:

- Installation of this new STARTER version

This installation often also update the software components SlaveOM (PROFIBUS DP) and DeviceOM (PROFINET IO). If the existing configuration is translated afterwards, then the internal configuration data are changed due to the version and the generated configuration data will sometimes cause a loss of CiR capability!

Please check that the current configuration can be loaded via "Station > Check CiR Capability" at HW-Config.

Remedy

Information in detail according the CiR capability you find at the System Manual “PCS 7 Process Control System CPU 410 Process Automation”. These "changed" configuration data must be loaded once in the STOP state of the CPU and then CiR Capability for further translations and loading processes is available again.

If this procedure is not possible with your system, please contact the Customer Service.
