Using Recipe Functions for persistent Data with SIMATIC S7-1200 and S7-1500

To retain parameters (e.g. position values for drives, limit values) after POWER OFF and restart, they must have been backed up persistently beforehand. These parameters can be stored as retain tags or in a CSV file with the Recipe Functions.

These parameters shall be saved persistently as CSV file on the memory card of the controller. The user can decide when to save the data. Either automatically, when the power supply PSU8600 changes to the buffer mode at power failure, in a given time interval, or upon request by the user, for example via HMI. After power failure and returned current, persistent data shall be read back from the CSV file into the user program.

The parameters set during commissioning are collected in a global data block.
The “DBtoCSV” block writes the collected data of the global data block to a CSV file on the load memory. The “CSVtoDB” block reads the data from the CSV file on demand and writes it back to the global data block.
