SITOP PSU8600 - Easy Configuration and Parameterization

Videos for easy configuration and parameterization of the SITOP PSU8600 power supply system.

The SITOP PSU8600 base units are primary-clocked power supplies for connection to 3-phase AC mains networks. The output voltage and current threshold can be set separately for each output of the power supply system. The integrated overload protection monitors the outputs for overloads and short-circuits. In case of fault the output concerned is shut down without affecting the other functioning outputs and the event is reported to the S7 control system.

The functions of all SITOP PSU8600 base units can be expanded with expansion modules. There are expansion modules for increasing the number of outputs and buffer modules for buffering power failures on the input side.

The following videos show how to install the SITOP PSU8600 and embed it in an S7 control system.

SITOP PSU8600 - basic configuration in STEP 7 (TIA Portal)
The SITOP PSU8600 power supply system is fully integrated in STEP 7 (TIA Portal) for embedding in an S7 control system. The SITOP PSU8600 is configured and parameterized as a PROFINET IO device in STEP 7 (TIA Portal). Here the device parameters are those set in the hardware configuration. The device parameters are assigned to the SITOP PSU8600 by the S7 control system.

SITOP PSU8600 - adding prepared function blocks
S7 communication blocks are available for the communication between the S7 control system and SITOP PSU8600. These blocks are called in the user program of the S7 CPU.

SITOP PSU8600 - Functions and Diagnostics
The sample application shows functions and diagnostics options of the SITOP PSU8600, for example:

  • Switch outputs off and on
  • Output different voltage values (5V to 28V)at one output
  • PROFIenergy
  • Alarm message in case of short-circuit or overload at an output
