How and for what do you use the the script function in SCALANCE products?
In this way you can load identical command sequences into each product in order to change parts of the configuration with having to transfer the complete configuration.
Loading a complete configuration can lead to parameters being unwantedly overwritten; for example:
- PROFINET address
- IP address
- the channel set for WLAN Access Points or Clients
Script for SCALANCE X
The download "script_scalance_x.zip" includes the script for the SCALANCE XM416-4C that executes the following functions.
- Switch off Spanning Tree
- Set Redundancy Mode on "MRP Auto Manager"
- Define ports 1.5 and 1.4 as ring port
In addition, a VLAN is set up with the ID 12 and the name "Test". Port 1.1 is configured as Tagged Member Port. Ports 1.2 and 1.6 are configured as Untagged Member Ports.
Unpack the data in "script_scalance_x.zip" into a separate directory. You can then load the script into SCALANCE XM416-4C. Open the Web Based Management of SCALANCEXM 416-4C. In the menu "System > Load&Save" you load the script into SCALANCE XM416-4C.

Script for SCALANCE W
The download "script_scalance_w.zip" includes the script for SCALANCE W 748 that executes the following functions.
- Switch on IPCF.
- Enable interface. Requirements for this:
- Assign a specific SSID and switch of "Any SSID".
- Assign country code; for example, "DE" for Germany.
- Configure antennas.
Unpack the data in "script_scalance_w.zip" into a separate directory. You can then load the script into SCALANCEW 748. Open the Web Based Management of SCALANCE W 748. In the menu "System > Load&Save" you load the script into SCALANCE W 748.

Other script functions
With the "Save CLI Config" function you can save the current configuration as CLI commands. However, you may not load the saved configuration again via the script function. Only single settings can be transferred for SCALANCE W.
It is recommended to use only script files that you have created and tested yourself.
