How with the TIA Portal do you transfer your project to your operator panel via a storage medium (USB stick, for example)?

  • Entry
  • Associated product(s)
With TIA Portal V14 and higher, in addition to the previous transfer options (Ethernet, for example), you can download your project directly to a storage medium (USB stick, SD card). Here the data can be handled via the Windows Explorer so that you can also send it by e-mail, for example.

General

The following files are transferred with the download:

  • Project
  • Operating system image
  • User and recipe data

The following devices support the download from device version V14.0 onwards:

  • Basic Panel 2nd Generation
  • Mobile Panel 2nd Generation
  • Comfort Panel
  • WinCC Runtime Advanced

Download project to storage medium

  1. Connect your storage medium (USB stick, for example) to your Engineering PC.
  2. In the project navigation in the TIA Portal you open the folder "Card Reader/USB Memory > Removable devices".

Via the "Add user-defined Card Reader button" you can select a storage path (a folder enabled on the Runtime PC, for example) as target directory.

A "Simatic.HMI" folder is created on the storage medium. The data is stored in this folder.
