The converting library is intended to support users when engineering and programming production machines for processing continuous material webs.The library provides typical, open standards, which can be adapted to address specific plants/systems and applications.

|The prismatic winding functionality is a technological add-on of the SIMOTION Winder standard application. The term “prismatic winding” describes the winding of material on a core different from round, for example an ellipse or a rounded rectangle as it can be used in the battery cell production.|

Line Tension Control
|The tension control application provides a function block to implement a higher-level closed-loop tension or dancer roll position control. Generally, to control the tension, the system comprises a motor, the material web as well as optional measuring technology to sense the tension or to set the tension (dancer roll). The motor is controlled in the system so that the material web tension remains constant.|
Applicable for film-, coating-, printing-, textile-machines, etc.

|To achieve the highest productivity, axial winders are equipped with an automatic roll change function (Splice Control). In this case, the expiring roll will be changed while the machine is in full operation.The new material web will be fixed to the expiring web on the fly, then the expiring web will be cut from the process. The old roll will bo moved to change position to release the empty core.|
|A web storage system is used to save the material web when carrying out a roll change (flying splice) on a winder without having to interrupt the process i.e. without having to stop the associated machines. To achieve this, the winder is braked, and the process is continued from the material in the web storage system. The material web storage system is emptied (unwinder) or filled (winder) if the wind is braked for a roll change.|
The standard application Traversing Drive is providing open application standards for winding and spooling of round- and flat-material, e.g. for wire, cable, paper or non-wovens, etc.

|The cross-cutter application offers the basis for typical applications with rotary cutting processes, for example cross-cutters, punching and embossing machines. Typically, a rotating knife comprises at least one cylinder equipped with one or several knives. During the cut, the circumferential velocity of the cylinder is adapted to that of the material; the format is adapted outside the cutting range. |

|The flying saw application is a solution to simply and quickly implement flying saws or flying shears. To make a cut, the flying saw is synchronized to the material at a precise position. The saw cut, cut or punch is made after synchronization. Once the cut has been completed, the equipment is stopped and traversed back to the initial position. |

|The diagnostic pages allow defined converting application variables to be monitored and diagnosed. The connection to the diagnostic pages is established by using a standard web browser. The selected function can be monitored and diagnosed using the configured status variables. Additional software (engineering system, HMI runtime) is not required on the computer being used for diagnostics.|
