SIMATIC STEP 7 Professional / Basic V14 SP1
The Service pack 1 for SIMATIC STEP 7 Professional V14 and STEP 7 Basic V14 is available for delivery. This will be supplied within the scope of the corresponding Software Update Service contracts.

When installing the various TIA Portal products and options, ensure that you use the same versions of service packs for the installation. For example, if you have installed SP1 for STEP 7 V14, you must also install SP1 for WinCC V14. Service packs must be installed at the same time for all products. Do not start the TIA Portal until you have upgraded all products.
Please note that not all TIA Portal V14 SP1 products are available concurrently.
Highlights SIMATIC STEP 7 V14 SP1
STEP 7 V14 SP1 includes new features for all phases of the engineering workflow. An overview of the new functions is available here:

- Tabular configuration of the IO channels for modules ET 200MP DI HF and HF ET 200MP DO including copy and paste, and auto fill function

- Improved zoom behavior and optimized (multi-) selection in the graphical network and topology views
- Overview of IO tags of an entire device (such as an ET 200SP station)
- Easy removal of unused GSD files in the project
- Wizard extension for UDP Multicast in the Open User Communication (OUC) with S7-1500
Editors for programming languages
Structured tags and ARRAY elements can be replaced by other tags using drag-and-drop in the SCL program code.
You can toggle between insert and overwrite mode in the SCL editor.
In SCL, selected program code segments can be easily enclosed with certain structural elements, such as "If...then".
A detailed comparison of individual blocks can be started directly from the project tree (offline/offline, but also online/offline).
The tag comment can be displayed directly at the point of use in LAD/FBD.
The F7 function ("Open block/PLC data type...") can also be started with focus within editors.
Generating an external source file from blocks: The export of objects as an external source includes PLC data types (UDT) defined in the block interface, multiple instances and all blocks called.
In the "Instructions" task card, all controller instructions used are updated to the latest version.
The new "SCATTER" and "GATHER" instructions for S7-1200 (firmware V4.2 or higher) and S7-1500 (firmware V2.1 or higher), enables values to be copied between tags of the BYTE, WORD, DWORD, LWORD data types and tag ARRAYs of the BOOL data type. For example, this enables control and status words of individual plant units to be separated into the individual bit signals and easily reassembled.
Using the "GetSMCInfo" instruction for S7-1500 (firmware V2.1 or higher), you can read information in the user program about the inserted SIMATIC Memory Card, for example, the memory capacity, the allocated space or the number of write/delete operations already performed (percentage).
The "Polyline" instruction for S7-1200 (firmware V4.2 or higher) and S7-1500 (firmware V2.0 or higher) maps the input value of a characteristic curve to the initial value. The characteristic curve is defined as a polygon (with up to 50 interpolation points).
PLC data types (UDT) and ARRAY comments can be changed for specific instances.
It is possible to assign different PLC data types (UDTs) with the same structure but different symbolic names.
S7-GRAPH blocks as of version 4.0 enable initial value acquisition of the faulty operands. The actual values of the signal states of Boolean operands and the results of comparators in interlocks and transitions are continuously recorded from the time the initial value acquisition was activated, even if no error occurs. The signal states are stored in the GRAPH instance data block every cycle. A maximum of 32 signal states are recorded per interlock or transition of a GRAPH step.
Project libraries and global libraries can now be translated separately into other foreign languages.
Simplified upgrading of types (blocks, PLC data types) in an existing project library.
The user-defined help can now also be launched in the context of the project language. Prior to V14, this was only possible in the context of the TIA Portal language.
Messages / Diagnostics
The presentation of the alarm display in the inspector window has been improved and functionally enhanced with new features such as "Receive alarms" and "Freeze alarms".
The local constants used in SCL sources for ARRAY limits are retained when migrating STEP 7 V5.x to the TIA Portal.
Switching display formats (for example: A WORD can be represented as hexadecimal, signed or unsigned INT)
The scrollbar the X-axis has a small preview window ("Time range display"), in which you can identify the area you just zoomed.
CAx data based on XML for communicating with ECAD systems, for example, can be exported and re-imported.
Users can freely define cross-references, for example, to determine multiple accesses of tags.
The TIA Portal can be connected to external password management via a password provider. The advantage of this is that passwords need not be disclosed. This increases the security of the program code.
The technology object (TO) for SIMATIC Ident combines the hardware configuration of communication modules and readers with programming an S7-1200 and S7-1500 controller. The TO prevents incorrect settings and detects errors in the configuration.
Each communication module / reader is given a "unique name" by system manufacturers with which it is identifiable by commissioning engineers and programmers alike.
The configuration of each communication module, reader or reading point is set via the TO.
You can use the "Auto-configuration" button to configure identification devices for the operation with the TO with a single click.

STEP 7 Professional / Basic V14 SP1 works together with WinCC, Startdrive, SIMOCODE ES and SOFT STARTER ESV14 SP1 and SIMOTION SCOUT TIA V5.1 in a single framework.
STEP 7 Professional / Basic V14 SP1 (incl. WinCC Basic V14 SP1) can be installed on a PC in parallel with other versions of STEP 7 V11 to V13 SP2, STEP 7 V5.5 SP4 (STEP 7 V5.6), STEP 7 Micro/WIN V4.0 SP9, WinCC flexible 2008 SP3 and WinCC (from V7.3).
A project upgrade to TIA Portal V14 is performed exclusively on the basis of TIA Portal V13 SP1 projects (last update recommended). In order to provide you with the best possible support, the latest version of V13 SP2 is included with the V14 SP1 products. A compatibility mode is not supported.
