Protective door monitoring by means of magnetically-operated switches and emergency shutdown using cable-operated switches up to SIL3 or PL e by means of AS-i ET 200SP Master and AS-i SlimLine compact modules
Protective doors are frequently used to fence off danger zones. These are monitored for position and, if necessary, the area from which the hazard emanates is switched off, by means of a 3SE6 magnetically-operated switch. A 3SE7 cable-operated switch is additionally monitored for shutting down the machine in an emergency. For connection to the fail-safe controller, AS-Interface SlimLine compact modules and CM AS-i Master and F-CM AS-i Safety are used.

The fail-safe controller monitors the two-channel magnetically-operated switch as well as the two-channel cable-operated switch. Both signals are read via the ASIsafe SlimLine compact module. They are then forwarded to the fail-safe controller with the aid of the CM AS-i Master and the F-CM AS-i Safety module (modules of the ET 200SP station). When the cable-operated switch is actuated or the protective door is opened, the fail-safe controller switches the power contactors off in a safety-related way. If the door is closed, the cableoperated switch is reset and the feedback circuit is closed, the Start button can be used to switch on again. The Start button is also read by means of an AS-i SlimLine compact module. The three AS-i SlimLine compact modules are interconnected by means of device connectors, so that the AS-i flat ribbon cable only has to be connected once.
