How do you create a COMOS log file for a COMOS client in a Citrix session?

If you have addressed a support request about COMOS to Support, a COMOS log file is often required for the Support Request. Here we describe how to create a COMOS log file for a COMOS client in a Citrix session.

Procedure

  1. If the "DebugView" application is not yet on the Citrix server, download it via this link:
    https://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/sysinternals/debugview.aspx

    Note
    Always use the latest version of "DebugView" to create the log file.
    Also you can start "DebugView" live with the latest version:
    https://live.sysinternals.com/dbgview.exe

  2. Unpack the Zip file and note or copy the path where you have saved the application.

  3. Start COMOS and open the project corresponding to your Support Request.

  4. Via the COMOS toolbar you open the "Object Debugger" dialog:
    "Tools > Object Debugger".

  5. Copy the following code into the "Script" input field:
    In the script you change the storage path of the "DebugView" application and "COMOS" accordingly.

    Set objShell = CreateObject("Shell.Application")
    objShell.ShellExecute "D:\Users\UserName\DebugView\Dbgview.exe", "", "", "", 1

    Set objShell = CreateObject("Shell.Application")
    objShell.ShellExecute "C:\Program Files (x86)\Comos\102\Current\BIN\Comos.exe", "/dg:d", "", "", 1

  6. In the toolbar of the "Script" input field you click the "Execute..." button to execute the script.
    The "DebugView" application is then executed automatically.

  7. Now reproduce your query/problem in COMOS (for your COMOS Support Request).

  8. Then save the log file of the "DebugView" application and in the name of the log file you save the Incident Report - ID(IR-ID) of your COMOS Support Request.

  9. Upload the log file via the GTAC portal.
