SINAMICS S120: Application Traversing Drive with DCB Extension

The traversing describes the targeted positioning/placement of the material on the winding coil. While the winder is responsible for the rotation of the winding, the Traversing Drive is responsible for a controlled arrangement of the material on the winding coil.

A Traversing Drive typically comprises a winder, which is responsible for the rotation of the winder and an axis that is responsible for the targeted positioning of the material on the winding coil. Therefore the Traversing Drive axis is reversing between the edges of the winding coil with a defined traversing velocity.

To receive an optimal defined winding structure, the traversing drive is in a cam synchronism to the winder drive. As leading axis for the traversing drive, the application SINAMICS DCC Winder Extended has to be used 38043750
