Successor of the SCALANCE X-200

The cost-optimized SCALANCE XC-200 are available as successors for the SCALANCE X-200 (X204-2, X204-2FM, X204-2LD, X206-1, X206-1LD, X208, X212-2, X212-2LD, X216 and X224).   Note: The SCALANCE X-200IRT and X-200RNA are not replaced by the SCALANCE XC-200. SCALANCE X-200PRO for cabinet-free installation is replaced by SCALANCE XP-200.


1. General advantages of the SCALANCE XC-200 compared to the SCALANCE X-200:

  • SIMATIC S7-1500 design with clearly structured diagnostics block

  • More easily accessible C-PLUG at top of slot

  • Mounting options on SIMATIC S7-300 mounting rail, S7-1500 mounting rail, standard rail or wall

  • Ambient temperature during operation now from -40 °C to 70 °C

  • Additional console port (1x RJ11)

  • Additional range of functions of the SCALANCE XC-200 compared to SCALANCE X-200:

    • Integration in the TIA Portal engineering system

    • Virtual Local Area Network (VLAN) (port-based)

    • Profinet and EtherNet/IP profiles switchable

    • IGMP Snooping and Query

    • HRP standby master/slave

    • Link aggregation

    • Fiber monitoring on all versions with fiber-optics

    • IEEE 802.1X

    • Rapid Spanning Tree Protocol (RSTP and MSTP)

    • Remote Network Monitoring (RMON)

    • Access control for management functions - Management Access Control List (ACL)

2. Successor of the SCALANCE X204-2 

The direct successor of the SCALANCE X204-2 is the SCALANCE XC206-2 (ST/BFOC). Similar to the X204-2, the XC206-2 (ST/BFOC) also features two ST/BFOC interfaces.

Advantages of the successor XC206-2 (ST/BFOC):

  •   8 ports instead of 6 in the same enclosure width

  •   Fiber monitoring integrated


As an alternative to the XC206-2 (ST/BFOC), the SCALANCE XC206-2SFP (6GK5206-2BS00-2AC2) with plug-in SFP transceivers (optical LC connection technology) can also be used as a successor. The equivalent components in comparison to the X204-2 is 2 x SFP991-1 (6GK5991-1AD00-8AA0). In addition to multimode SFPs, single-mode and Gigabit SFPs can also be plugged into XC206-2SFP.

 

3. Successor of the SCALANCE X204-2FM 

The direct successor of the SCALANCE X204-2FM is the SCALANCE XC206-2 (ST/BFOC). Similar to the X204-2FM, the XC206-2 (ST/BFOC) also features two ST/BFOC interfaces.

As an alternative to the XC206-2 (ST/BFOC), the SCALANCE XC206-2SFP (6GK5206-2BS00-2AC2) with plug-in SFP transceivers (optical LC connection technology) can also be used as a successor. The equivalent components in comparison to the X204-2FM is 2 x SFP991-1 (6GK5991-1AD00-8AA0). In addition to multimode SFPs, single-mode and Gigabit SFPs can also be plugged into XC206-2SFP.
