SIMATIC/SIMOTION Virtual Commissioning with Hardware in the Loop
Using STEP 7 and the TIA Portal you can create a hardware in the loop (HIL) scenario to simulate and validate your user program. With the help of NX Mechatronics Concept Designer (MCD) machine builders can simulate and test the mechanical components of their machine in a virtual environment. The behavior of active components, such as drives or valves is modeled in the simulation software SIMIT: Field devices of the real machinery are emulated within the SIMIT Unit. This combination helps you for preparation and for a smooth commissioning. Furthermore you can test the mechanical concept of the machine, the interplay between mechanic, electric and software as well as your user program in a very early development status of your machinery.
