Where do you find the SIMATIC PCS 7 Plant Automation Accelerator database (PAA based on iDB)?

Standard storage location of the SIMATIC PCS 7 Plant Automation Accelerator database (iDB).

During installation of the Plant Automation Accelerator (PAA) a folder for the version of your PAA Installation is created in the directory
"C:\ProgramData\Siemens\PCS 7 Plant Automation Accelerator". 

The following directories are contained in this folder:

  • "DataBase": This folder includes the database for your PAA version.
  • "Excel": This folder includes the templates for the Excel Import.
  • "menu": This folder includes an xml file that sets the interface of PAA.

Note
The directory "C:\ProgramData" is a hidden folder and hidden by default.
To make the folder visible, in the folder options you have to enable the option "Show hidden files, folders and drives".

In the "Open database" dialog you can now select the following file to open the local Access database: 

“C:\ProgramData\Siemens\PCS 7 Plant Automation Accelerator\V2.0\DataBase\DB_PAA_2000_000030\DB_PAA_2000_000030\DB_PAA_2000.mdb“.

Directory and file names are specific to the versions.
