Why does your Smart Access Module (SAM) remain in the "Initializing database" state?

Possible reasons for a persistent "Initializing database" state

If the Smart Access Module displays only the following image, you should check whether one of the two following possibilities is the case:

  1. A SINAMICS Control Unit or converter firmware version that is not supported is being used. 
    Only the following devices of the SINAMICS series are automatically recognized by the SINAMICS G120 Smart Access Module:
    • SINAMICS G120X
    • SINAMICS G120C (ab FW V4.7 SP6)
    • SINAMICS G120 CU230P-2 (ab FW V4.7 SP6)
    • SINAMICS G120 CU240E-2 (The CU240E-2 F, CU240E-2 DP-F and CU240E-2 PN-F are not supported, all other CUs with firmware V4.7 SP6 and higher)

  2. An old version of the firmware is installed on the Smart Access Module.
    Please upgrade the Smart Access Module firmware via the upgrade version "Basic Upgrade".
    In the operating instructions of the Smart Access Module (Entry ID 109763172) is a description of how to proceed in the "Upgrade" chapter.
    You can use the Search function to find the current Smart Access Module firmware.
