What should you watch out for in the parts list of EPLAN for the server module of an IM155-6 when doing an AML?

  • Entry
  • Associated product(s)
If you configure the ET 200SP IM155-6 PN/DP incl. server module in the TIA Selection Tool and then import it into EPLAN via the AutomationML PLC data exchange format, then in the EPLAN parts list, in addition to the article number of the IM155-6 PN/DP (incl. server module) you see another article number 6ES7193-6PA00-0AA0 for the server module (spare part).

Description
Each IM155-6 PN/DP configured in the TIA Selection Tool consists of an interface module IM 155-6 PN/DP and a server module. If you export this configuration as AML file to EPLAN, then an additional server module is listed both in the AML file and in EPLAN in addition to the IM155-6 PN (incl. server module.

Example 1
In the TIA Selection Tool you have configured the following modules: ET 200SP, IM155-6PN ST (6ES7155-6AU01-0BN0) consisting of

  • 1x SIMATIC ET 200SP, PROFINET interface module IM 155-6PN Standard, max. 32 IO modules, and 16 ET 200AL modules, Single Hot SWAP
  • 1x incl. server module (6ES7193-6PA00-0AA0)

If you import these modules into EPLAN, the following parts list appears in EPLAN:

  • Article number 6ES7155-6AU01-0BN0 of the interface module IM 155 including the server module (parts of the article number)

  • Article number 6ES7193-6PA00-0AA0 as spare part

In this way you have one interface module and two server modules after ordering via the EPLAN parts list.

Example 2
You have configured the following module in the TIA Selection Tool: ET 200SP, IM155-6PN ST (6ES7155-6AA01-0BN0), consisting of

  • 1x SIMATIC ET 200SP, PROFINET interface module IM 155-6 PN Standard, max. 32 IO modules, and 16 ET 200 AL modules, Single Hot SWAP
  • 1x incl. server module (6ES7193-6PA00-0AA0)
  • 1x incl. bus adapter 2xRJ45 (6ES7193-6AR00-0AA0)

If you import this module into EPLAN, the following parts list appears in EPLAN:

  • Article number 6ES7155-6AU01-0BN0 of the interface module IM 155, including the server module (article number)
  • Article number 6ES7193-6PA00-0AA0 of the server module
  • Article number 6ES7193-6AR00-0AA0 of the bus adapter (as spare part)

In this way you have one interface module, bus adapter, and two server modules in the EPLAN parts list.

Remedy

  1. Create the parts list in the TIA Selection Tool.
  2. For your hardware configuration you select the server module in the properties of the PLC macro and under the category "Article reference data" you choose the property "Suppress in parts list (if filtered)". When you create the parts list in EPLAN and set the relevant filter, the server module is suppressed in the parts list.

Note
For the IM155-6 PN/DP incl. server module there are module macros for the article database in EPLAN. If you use these module macros in EPLAN, you cannot use the AML data exchange with TIA Portal and TIA Selection Tool for these modules.
