SINAMICS G120: Automatic restart after main power failure but with external 24V supply still on

  • Entry

This FAQ shows the way to implement automatic restart after main power failure but with external 24V supply still on.

Question:
Automatic restart function of SINAMICS G120 can be activated by parameter p1210. When the main power supply fails, the inverter and motor stop work. As soon the main power recovers, the automatic restart function will work and the motor runs again.
However, in some cases external 24V is connected to the inverter (e.g. for uninterrupted communication with higher level controller). The external 24V auxiliary power supply is independent of the main power supply. When the main power fails but with external 24V supply still on, the automatic restart function is implemented immediately. The function will report a fault if the main power can’t recover within the monitoring time p1213 or attempts p1212 expire.
So how to implement automatic restart after main power failure but with external 24V supply still on?
