Delivery release: SIMATIC S7-1500 Software Controller V2.7 available

  • Entry
  • Associated product(s)
The SIMATIC S7-1500 Software Controllers CPU 1505SP (F/T/TF), CPU 1507S (F) and CPU 1508S (F) with version V2.7 are available now.

Improvements

  • "Ending Certificates": Installation and operation are possible without restrictions after 10 June 2019.
  • An installation on an IPC is actively prevented if the IPC is set up in the UEFI boot mode that is not supported.
  • When using the so-called S5 timers as timers in the user program, the status of these blocks is now displayed with "Monitor block".
  • When monitoring a block via "Open and monitor", values are also displayed when the block is called up in the STL via CC/UC (call block conditionally/unconditionally) and shall then be monitored using a call hierarchy.
  • After terminating block monitoring, the cycle time returns to the value it had before starting the "Monitor block" procedure.
  • The "Monitor block" function has no longer any sporadic effects on parameter transfer with function blocks.
  • When performing an implicit type conversion from REAL to INT on a function block for INPUT or OUTPUT parameters, the variable value is now correctly displayed and used when monitoring the block.
  • The IEC timer blocks function correctly even if the relevant value from the corresponding instance DB has been connected as input value for the parameter PT.
  • If, with an IEC timer, the values for the "IEC time" parameter are stored in a structure of the data type "IEC timer"_LTIME, the output ET is no longer set to a random value if the value at the input "IN" changes from TRUE to FALSE.
  • If a force job is deactivated, an outgoing event is triggered again in the alarm system.
  • The "SPLIT" block indicates the position in which the conversion was stopped if the same character is used both as separator and as end separator and an error code is pending.
  • If subscriptions are used with the OPC UA server on the CPU, the change notifications are sent correctly if "StatusValueTimestamp" is used as a trigger for a variable change.
  • The robustness with the OPC UA client function has been increased when using the connection identification (not for S7-1500 R/H).
  • If a password longer than 61 characters is defined for OPC UA in the global security settings of the TIA Portal project, the following message is no longer displayed sporadically: "Temporary CPU error: Serious firmware exception error, CPU switching to DEFECTIVE mode (system reaction)".
  • If program errors are processed with an extremely high alarm load, the following message is no longer output: "Temporary CPU error: Integrity error, CPU switching to DEFECTIVE mode (system reaction)".
  • Only for CPU 1505SP T/TF: If a job for a kinematic movement with maximum rounding is inserted in a job chain and the previous kinematic movement job nearly reaches the target position, the position setpoint step-change no longer occurs.

  • Only for CPU 1505SP (F/T/TF): Increased data transmission robustness in combination with the use of BA-send and SIMATIC ET 200AL modules with large quantity framework

Compatibility

The new version V2.7 is backward compatible to the previous versions:

  • CPU 1505SP (F/T/TF) V2.5 and higher
  • CPU 1507S (F) V2.0 and higher
  • CPU 1508S (F) V2.6 and higher

Note:
Projects for CPU 1505SP (F/T/TF) as of V2.5 cannot be downloaded with TIA Portal V15. An upgrade to TIA Portal V15.1 is necessary.

The new versions can be operated on the following IPCs:

CPU 1505SP (F, T, TF):

  • ET 200SP Open Controller CPU 1515SP PC2 with Windows 10 Enterprise LTSB 2016
  • Notes:
The CPU 1505SP (F, T, TF) will only be available as download in the Customer Support area for upgrading.
TIA Portal V15.1 is required to download projects.

CPU 1507S (F):

  • Box PC IPC227E, IPC427D, IPC427E, IPC627D, IPC827D
  • Panel PC IPC277E, IPC477D, IPC477E, IPC677D
  • Rack PC IPC647D, IPC847D (Standard CPU only)
  • Notes:
    • IPC427D and IPC477D are supported as of Core i3 processor.
    • On the SIMATIC IPC with Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit or Windows 10 operating system, the Windows installation must be converted from UEFI boot to Legacy boot before the software controller can be installed.
    • IPC configurations with NVRAM (e.g. buffered SRAM) are required for the CPU 1507S F.

CPU 1508S (F):

  • Box PC IPC427E, IPC627D, IPC827D
  • Panel PC IPC477E, IPC677D
  • Rack PC IPC647D, IPC847D (Standard CPU only)
  • Notes:
      • System requirement: Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit or Windows 10 64-bit with 8 GB RAM
      • On the SIMATIC IPC with Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit or Windows 10 operating system, the Windows installation must be converted from UEFI boot to Legacy boot before the software controller can be installed.
      • IPC configurations with NVRAM (e.g. buffered SRAM) are required for the CPU 1508S F.

Upgrading existing installations

The installation files of the SIMATC S7-1500 Software Controllers are available for upgrading existing applications in the Siemens Industry Online Portal:

Requirements for installation:

  • Write filters under Windows such as EWF, FBWF or UWF are disabled
  • You are logged on to the target system with administrator rights.
  • You have downloaded the appropriate setup file for the installed version.

Proceed as follows for installation:

  1. Shut down the PC completely.
  2. Restart the PC and select the "Windows" option in the boot menu.
  3. Uninstall the old version of the SIMATIC S7-1500 Software Controller. Note that the current configuration will be lost in the process.
