The behavior occurs with STEP 7 (TIA Portal) V15.1 Update 2 and is cleared with Update 3. Install the Update 3 to your STEP 7 (TIA Portal) V15.1.

The download of Update 3 for STEP 7 (TIA Portal) V15.1 you will find in the TIA Portal information system, by
Updates for STEP 7 V15.1 and WinCC V15.1

Consider the following informations so long as you work with STEP 7 (TIA Portal) V15.1 Update 2.

With STEP 7 (TIA Portal) V15.1 Update 2 it might happen that when you open the Cross-reference Editor, STEP 7 (TIA Portal) crashes if you are using the timer types TON, TOF, TP or TONR. You also get the error message shown in Fig. 1.

If you click on the "Show data" button, you get the information from the TIA Portal Diagnostics Report.

However, the program crash only happens when the block is used in a CPU of the S7-1200 product family. If you copy the same block into the program folder of a S7-1500 CPU (in the same project), the cross-reference search does not cause a crash.

The behavior described above is cleared with Update 3 for STEP 7 (TIA Portal) V15.1. With the Newsletter, you can be informed when the download for Update 3 (planned for August 2019) will be available to you.

For the time being use the menu command "Edit > Search in project".

If the menu command "Search in project" is grayed out, you have to enable "Global Search" beforehand. In STEP 7 (TIA Portal) V15.1 you open the dialog "Options > Settings" and then navigate to "General > Search in project". Enable the function "Enable 'Search in project'".
