The new Drive System SINAMICS S210 with the SIMOTICS S-1FK2 motors in a 3AC 400V (3AC 200-480V) version is released for sales and delivery with immediate effect. In addition to the S210 FSA and FSB (0.4 kW - 2 kW) with the 1FK2 motors in SH 40 and 52 also the S210 FSC (3.5 kW - 7 kW) with the 1FK2 motors in SH 63 to 100 are available now.

Higher power output, easier engineering

Additional power variants are now available for the Sinamics S210 high-performance single-axis servo drive system for midrange applications in the 400V range (with wide-range power supply connection of 3AC 200 V to 480 V for worldwide use). The system is now available in the complete power range.

The existing output power range of 400 W to 2 kW (FSA and FSB) is expanded now with device variants from 3.5 kW to 7 kW (FSC) including the associated Simotics S-1FK2 servomotors with shaft heights 40 to 100 (1.27 to 40 Nm).

The three frame sizes can optionally be coupled via the DC link and the mains connection. The converter’s DC link coupling enables power compensation during dynamic acceleration and deceleration processes. This reduces the waste heat generated during braking via the integrated braking resistor and reduces the travel cycle of the individual axes.

Sinamics S210 can use Simatic S7-1500 Standard and Advanced Controllers as well as Simatic ET 200SP CPUs or Open Controllers for higher-level control, all connected via isochronous Profinet IRT. This connection is also possible with SIMOTION.

As with the 230V range the 400V converters also have integrated safety features: in addition to the standard functions, users can obtain an optional license to activate extended safety functions such as SLS, SSM, and SDI. These extended safety functions are also supported by the Simotics S-1FK2 motors and their encoders with a 22-bit resolution.

The configuration and commissioning of the Sinamics S210 drive system have also been expanded: the TIA Selection Tool provides user-friendly support for the technical design of the components required for a drive task. Apart from simple direct commissioning via the converter’s web server, Sinamics Startdrive also enables engineering via TIA Portal (Version V15.1 with Update 2 1)). The tool for configuration, commissioning, and diagnostics has been optimized for consistent use of the benefits of TIA Portal – a common working environment for PLC, HMI, and drives.
