Protective door monitoring with 3SE53 tumbler (locking device) on ET 200eco PN-F

  • Entry
  • Associated product(s)
To prevent access to the danger zone of a machine during operation, a protective door is installed. If the machine continues to present a hazard even after switching off, access can be prevented for this period by a tumbler.

The machine can only be started when the protective door is closed and locked. If the protective door is opened during operation or a fault is detected, the machine is safely shut down.

SF1 "protective door monitoring":
If the protective door is opened, the machine is safely shut down.

SF2 "protective door locking":
The protective door is kept locked until the machine has stopped.

To achieve the required safety for both safety functions, the position of the protective door is monitored with a 3SE53 safety switch and also locked via an integrated tumbler (locking device) in the safety switch. The safety switch is connected to the ET 200eco PN-F via the inverted Y-cable 6ES7194-6KC00-0XA0 and is evaluated for discrepancy and cross circuit with an F-CPU.

There are two versions of the position switch in which different SIL / PL are achieved for the two safety functions:

SF1: max. SIL 2 / PL d

SF2: max SIL 2 / PL d
