This guide to position controller optimization of a technology object (TO) describes the basic principle of axis control and the optimization of position control in TO.

This guide for the position controller optimization of a technology object is divided into two parts:

  • Basic principle of axis control
    The first part of the guide describes the basic principle of axis control. The essential parameters such as speed pre-control (kpc), the speed control loop substitute time (vtc) and the position control gain (kv) are explained. Furthermore, the advantages and disadvantages of using the position controller in the controller and in the drive (DSC) are compared.

  • Procedure for axis optimization
    In the second part, a guide is used to describe how to optimize the position controller for use with and without dynamic servo control (DSC). The included flowchart as decision support provides a simple overview of the necessary steps.
