Automation License Manager (ALM), AuthorsW and Authors handling programs and authorizing and licensing SIMATIC Industry Software
Authorization of SIMATIC Industry Software requires a red or yellow authorization disk. This disk might include an older version of the Windows handling program AuthorsW or the handling program AUTHORS (MS-DOS) for transferring the authorization. Later software packages install the version V2.4.2 or V2.5.2 of AuthorsW on the hard disk and register it in the system. In this case there is no handling program on the authorization disk.
The new licensing procedure with license keys was introduced in 2003. These keys are supplied on the yellow license disks, on USB sticks or via downloads from the A&D Mall, or are already preinstalled on a Compact Flash Card. The license keys can only be handled with the Automation License Manager (ALM) handling program that is on the associated CD and which is automatically installed by default with the software. More information on license keys is available in Entry ID: 19100818.
Get in touch with Technical Support if your license key or authorization is defective. The Technical Support will support you to restore defective license keys and authorizations. Further informations you will find by entry id: 772175.
