How can you change the column width of the message blocks with the mouse in WinCC Alarm Control when configuring in the Graphics Designer or in Runtime?

Proceed as follows to set the column width with the mouse when configuring in the Graphics Designer or in Runtime.

Procedure for WinCC V6.0
 

No. Procedure
1 Check the "Change Column Width" and "Column Title" properties of the WinCC Alarm Control
In the Graphics Designer, you double-click on the WinCC Alarm Control. In the "WinCC Alarm Control Properties" dialog, you go to the "Parameters" tab. To be able to set the column width with the mouse, under "Column Properties" you enable the "Column Title" and "Change Column Width" properties.

Note:
If you insert a WinCC Alarm Control into a WinCC screen, these two properties are enabled by default.

2 Disable the "Column Width" property in the "Message Blocks" tab
Go to the "Message Blocks" tab. Under "Apply Project Settings" you disable the "Column Width" option.

Click the "Apply" button and then close the dialog with the "OK" button.

3 Enable the toolbar of the WinCC Alarm Control in the Graphics Designer
Press and hold the <Ctrl> button and double-click on the WinCC Alarm Control in the Graphics Designer. This changes the display of the Alarm Control. Now you can use the Alarm Control toolbar.

Note:
Do not click on the area outside the Alarm Control, because that changes the display mode of the Alarm Control again. It is then no longer possible to use the toolbar.

4 Disable the "Autoscroll" property
Disable the "Autoscroll" property by clicking on the relevant button in the toolbar. When you disable "Autoscroll", a scroll bar is displayed on the right edge of the Alarm Control.

5 Set the column width of the message blocks with the mouse
Move the mouse pointer over the column titles. When the mouse pointer changes, press and hold the left mouse button and then you can change the column width with the mouse.

Procedure in Runtime

Depending on the WinCC version, perform Steps 1, 4 and 5 from the previous table to change the column width in runtime.

Notes:

  • If you have made changes in the WinCC screen in Step 1, save the screen. Then open the screen again in Runtime.
  • Steps 4 and 5 are not performed in the Graphics Designer, but in Runtime.
  • Column width changes are temporary. The settings are reset when you change screens or close WinCC Runtime.
