QUESTION:
The Runtime was started with AutostartRT.exe on the SIMATIC WinCC client actively, then later the Runtime is closed on the SIMATIC WinCC server. Why does the SIMATIC WinCC client not automatically connect to the SIMATIC WinCC server when the Runtime is restarted there?

ANSWER:
If the WinCC project in Runtime is started with WinCC Autostart (AutostartRT.exe), the WinCC Explorer is not started. The AutostartRT.exe will be closed after the projectg has been started in Runtime.

If the Runtime is now closed on the SIMATIC WinCC server, it will also be closed on the SIMATIC WinCC client. If the Runtime is restarted on the server, it will not open on the client since no WinCC task is running on the SIMATIC WinCC client which is querying the status of the project.

Remedy:
Log on to the SIMATIC WinCC client under Microsoft Windows again so that the client reconnects to the SIMATIC WinCC Server. The AutostartRT.exe will then be executed and the Runtime will be restarted on the client.
