Operating System Updates for ET200S 1SI (ASCII, Modbus)

DESCRIPTION:
When updating the operating system, you should always update to the latest version available for the product with the relevant order number. The previous versions of the operating system are intended only as a backup, permitting you to downgrade again to the original version. However, this has not been necessary in any known case as yet.
The latest version of a 1SI firmware is valid for all the versions of this order number.

Online firmware update by means of STEP7 HW Config:

  1. Download of the required firmware file
  2. Unpack the file by double-clicking the file name
  3. Earmark the module in the ET200S station in HW Config
  4. Program the firmware by selecting "Target System/Update Firmware" in the program menu
  5. Earmark the directory with the firmware file in the dialog box and start the firmware download.

After the download is completed, the new firmware can be started automatically or via power OFF/ON.

Note:
The firmware update is possible in conjunction with the following interface modules:

  • IM151-1/Standard 6ES7151-1AA04-0AB0 and higher
  • IM151-1/High Feature 6ES7151-1BA01-0AB0 and higher
  • IM151-3/Profinet Standard 6ES7151-3AA20-0AB0 and higher
  • IM151-3/Profinet HF 6ES7151-3BA20-0AB0 and higher

As from firmware version V1.2.1:

  • IM151-7 CPU order no. 6ES7151-7AA20-0AB0 V2.6.4 and higher

Update V1.4.0 (6ES7 138-4DF11-0AB0)

The following changes have been implemented:

  • Revision of the hardware
  • Revision of the firmware
    • If the module was used as Modbus Master and the supply voltage to the IM was switched, communication would sporadically fail to start.
    • If the module was used as Modbus Master, the parameter STATUS of the  FB S_RCV would read the undefined value 16#0485.

Please note:
Modules with product release (E-Stand) 05 and higher can only be run with a firmware version V1.4.0 or higher.

 

 

Update V1.4.0 (6ES7 138-4DF01-0AB0)

The following change has been implemented:

Update V1.3.0 (6ES7 138-4DF11-0AB0)

The following changes have been implemented:

  • A renewed Modbus Master send job will be latched after a reading Modbus Master send job and negatively acknowleged to the user FB, until the receive message frame has been fetched by the FB.

 

Update V1.3.0 (6ES7 138-4DF01-0AB0)

The following changes have been implemented:

  • Improved connection establishment for the 3964 protocol, if the 1SI module has been configured with low priority

  • ASCII/RS485: The configurable character delay times have been changed as follows:
    • 9600 Baud, smallest character delay time = 2 ms
    • 19200 Baud, smallest character delay time = 1 ms.

    Please note: to be able to configure the above times, you require the HSP No. 0056 V3.0.

 

Update V1.2.2 (6ES7 138-4DF01-0AB0)

The following response has been optimized (concerns only applications that make use of the FB4 S_VSTAT):

If a reset is triggered on the FB S_VSTAT before the active FB S_VSTAT is terminated, a communication fault can occur.

 

Update V1.2.2 (6ES7 138-4DF11-0AB0)

The following problems have been corrected:

  • After unplugging/plugging-in the module or the serial cable, sporadic communication faults would occur if break detection had been switched off.
  • When used in modem operation and the modem connection was disrupted, sporadic communication faults would occur if break detection had been switched off.

Both faults could be corrected by switching the CPU to STOP and RUN.

 

Update V1.2.1 (6ES7 138-4DF.1-0AB0)

Redesign of the hardware and adapted firmware

The following functions have been optimized:

  • Restart characteristics after disconnection and connection
  • Restart characteristics after power off/on
  • Module communication

New feature:

  • Break detection is deactivated on HSPs lower than V1.2 and can be configured from HSP V1.2 onwards.

 

The following behavior has been corrected (affects only ET200S 1SI Modbus 6ES7138-4DF11-0AB0):

  • Extended operation with repeated violation of the acknowledgement delay time can cause communication standstill.

 

Update V1.0.4 (6ES7 138-4DF.1-0AB0)

The following behavior has been corrected:

  • Communication would sporadically get stuck
  • Transmission error in the case of data transfer rates from 76 800 bit/s

 

Update V1.0.2 (6ES7 138-4DF.1-0AB0)

The following behavior has been corrected:

  • If the 1SI module was operated with an IM151-7 CPU, receive message frames would occasionally be blocked.
  • In the case of repeated voltage dips, a deadlock would occur in isolated cases.
    The 1SI module was not parameterized in such cases.
