The WINDOWS IMCEA driver download provides direct access functions (low level) to physical I/O resources (memory-mapped I/Os, port-based I/Os and interrupts) under Microsoft Windows NT / Windows 2000 and Windows XP operating systems. The WINDOWS IMCEA driver enables applications to directly access the hardware.

The WINDOWS IMCEA driver download includes two driver versions:

  • WINDOWS IMCEA (PnP): Plug&Play driver for Windows 2000 / XP
  • WINDOWS IMCEA (nPnP): Non-Plug&Play driver for Windows NT / 2000 / XP

The driver download includes an application example for the use of the non-Plug&Play driver for the control of onboard LEDs and the onboard SRAM of the SIMATIC Microbox PC 420.

To be able to use the Plug&Play version of the driver your computer must have a PCI-/CPCI bus or a PC104/PC104+ interface. The installation file included in the driver download for the Plug&Play driver supports the SICOMP CPCI-EA221 module.

System prerequisites
The IMCEA driver can be used with the following Microsoft operating systems:

  • Windows XP
  • Windows 2000
  • Windows NT

Supported PC systems
The IMCEA driver supports the following SIMATIC PCs and SICOMP microcomputers:

  • SIMATIC Box PC 620 V1/V2
  • SIMATIC Box PC 840 V1/V2
  • SIMATIC Rack PC 840 V1/V2
  • SIMATIC Rack PC IL 40 S/V2
  • SIMATIC Microbox PC 420
