Product Information: Startup Response of SM322 in Combination with CPs when Switching the Supply Voltage On

  • Entry
  • Associated product(s)

If the modules listed below are operated together with certain CPs in one station (S7-300 or ET 200M) and the supply voltage is switched on (e.g. CPU, CP and SM simultaneously), the outputs of these two modules can switch to log. "1" for approx. 1s.

The problem will only occur under the following limiting conditions:

If one of the two modules

  • 6ES7 322-5HF00-0AB0; Product release (E-Stand) E03 and E04
  • 6ES7 322-5FF00-0AB0; Product release (E-Stand) E02, E03 and E04

is located together with a CP343 (6GK7 343-1.X..-0XE0) or CP341 (6ES7 341 1.H0.-0AE0) in one station and the supply voltage is switched on (e.g. CPU, CP and SM simultaneously), the outputs of these two modules can switch to logic "1" for approx. 1s.

Remedy:

When employing the two SM322 modules please be sure not to combine them with one of the above two CPs. Alternatively you can circumvent this problem by switching on the load voltage to the SM only when the CPU and CP have started up.

The problem will be corrected with the next product release of the two modules. We shall inform you as soon as the new release is available.
