MICROMASTER 4, SINAMICS G110: Differences on the USS communication

This FAQ applies to MICROMASTER 4, SINAMICS G110, SINAMICS G120 (CU240x) and SINAMICS G120 (CU2x0-2)

What are the differences between USS communications on Sinamics G110 and Micromaster 4?

1)    Configuration of PZD Data
As the G110 does not support Bico parameterisation, the configuration of the PZD data is fixed.

Default settings for 2 PZD words
MICROMASTER 4 and SINAMICS G110    p2012=2
SINAMICS G120 with CU2x0x-2                  p2022=2

For G110: Bit 13 of control word 2 (external fault) is active when P2106 is set to 1


2)    Bus termination
In contrast to MICROMASTER 4, the G110 / G120 (CU240x) / G120 (CU2x0x-2) have a built in bus termination and biasing facility. The correspondent bus termination DIP switches must be ON when the G110/G120 inverter is the last node on the RS485 bus. External resistors do not have to be connected.

Note
*  The G110 has only one processor port for external communication, therefore it is not possible to simultaneously use the PC connection kit and have RS485 communication on terminals 8 and 9. Switching of the active connection is automatic, depending on where communication is first started.

** The plug is on bottom side of the CU
