1. SIMATIC WinCC/Dat@Monitor V6.1 SP1 - What's new?

With Version 6.1 SP1, new functionalities are introduced. They are:

  • Support of Windows Server 2003 SP1

  • Support of user cycles in Dat@Symphony

  • Direct addressing of objects in Dat@Symphony

1.1 Support of Windows Server 2003 SP1

Starting with the Dat@Monitor V6.1 SP1, the operation under Windows Server 2003 SP1 is released on the server-side as well as the client-side (in addition to the previously released operating systems).

1.2 Support of User Cycles in Dat@Symphony

Within WinCC projects, user cycles can be defined as trigger conditions. Starting with the current Dat@Monitor V6.1 SP1, user cycles are also supported in the process screens at Dat@Symphony clients.

1.3 Direct Addressing of Objects in Dat@Symphony

Dat@Monitor V6.1 SP1 supports the absolute addressing of objects by C script. Analogous to the WinCC basic system, objects in WinCC screens can now also be addressed directly with the aid of the screen name. At Dat@Symphony clients of the versions prior to 6.1 SP1, only the relative addressing was possible, which continues to be supported in the current version.

2. Upgrades and Compatibility to older Dat@Monitor Versions

Upgrades for an existing Dat@Monitor V6.0, V6.0 SP1 or V6.1 to V6.1 SP1 can be ordered from the download area of the SIMATIC Customer Support Website (article ID: !22324952!).

2.1 Dat@Monitor Server
Older Dat@Monitor versions can be upgraded to V6.1 SP1. In this case, the old Dat@Monitor is first deinstalled and then the Dat@Monitor V6.1 SP1 installed.

2.2 Dat@Monitor Client
The Dat@Monitor server checks the version compatibility between server and client and, if required, automatically installs the corresponding client component. This means:

  • An 'old' Dat@Monitor client V6.1 encounters a current server V6.1 SP1 -> Current Dat@Monitor client V6.1 SP1 is automatically installed
  • A current Dat@Monitor client V6.1 SP1 encounters an 'old' server V6.1 -> Communication will continue to function, but with the function scope of V6.1
