1.2 New Functionality

Real-time Capability for time-critical Inputs through PROFINET IO
PROFINET is the innovative and open Industrial Ethernet standard (IEC 61158) for the industrial automation. With PROFINET, devices from the field level up to the management level can be connected. This results in an integrated communication, enables a system-wide engineering and utilizes the IT standards down to the field level. PROFINET is based on the Industrial Ethernet and uses the TCP/IP standard for the parameterization, configuration and diagnostics. The real-time communication for the transmission of the user/process data takes place on the same cable. Remote field devices (I/O devices such as signal modules but also HMI operator devices) can be integrated directly or via so-called IO controllers into the Industrial Ethernet (PROFINET IO). Together with WinCC flexible 2005 SP1, SIMATIC HMI operator devices of the 177 series and 277 series classes support PROFINET IO. With it, time-critical operations - as carried out with the DP direct keys via PROFIBUS - are now also possible on the basis of Industrial Ethernet. This concerns the direct keys with panels ranging from the OP/TP 177B up to the Multi Panel MP 277 as well as the direct keys and the handwheel with the Mobile Panels 177 and 277, each in the model for PROFINET use. In parallel to this, the "regular" communication with the process of course still takes place (tag values, alarms). Diagnostics alarms on PROFINET occur via "system error reporting" - for panels as well, since they are to be viewed as PROFINET IO devices. All PROFINET-capable devices are shown in the STEP7 lifelist. Via the Ethernet interface, a uniform diagnostics via SNMP (Simple Network Management Protocol) is possible - also remotely, e.g. from another PC. With the process communication (S7 communication), services for operating & monitoring as well as alarming are available.

More Engineering Efficiency through dynamic Picture Modules
The dynamic properties of the picture elements of a picture module - such as design, visibility and operability - can now be connected with tags. With this, for example, the individual components of the picture module, but also the entire picture module, can be displayed and hidden depending on a tag value in runtime. Picture modules can from now on be employed very conveniently and without a lot of "wiring work", since they can be linked with structured data types (structure tags). The big advantage in doing so is that each usage of the picture module in a picture only requires the configuration of one structure tag at the module for the complete connection. Externally, for example, a structure tag can thus be assigned whose structure elements internally are divided among multiple objects that are to be made dynamic. Within a picture module, module-internal tags can be created, which can be used for making properties of individual module elements dynamic as well as for the parameterization of functions, but also can be further processed by an internal script.

Targeted Troubleshooting via configurable Alarm Filters
In the alarm display, several alarms can be displayed simultaneously - depending on their configured size. For different alarm classes, multiple alarm displays can be configured in the same or in different pictures. With WinCC flexible 2005 SP1, alarm filters can also be set in runtime, which are configured during the engineering and then while in operation specifically limit the current alarms to be displayed. In doing so, the filter acts on the user text in the alarm and can be a fixed character string or be set dynamically via a tag.

New Functions for "small" Operator Devices
Already familiar functions are now also available on the panels OP 73 and OP 73micro, OP 77A as well as TP 177A and TP 177micro:
• Project ID (not with the Micro Panels)
• Analog alarms (quantity schedule: OP 73: 5, OP 77A: 10, TP 177A: 20)
• Motion objects with the TP 177A
• Dynamic switching of connections between S7 PLCs (function "switch connection")
• Freely scalable fonts (previously max. font size was 22)
• Transparent mode for objects in the picture
• Improved input mechanism (OP 73, OP 73micro): switching between lower case and upper case via the SHIFT key
• Release of the USB-PPI cable for the serial transfer/initial image loading
• With the TP 177A and TP 177micro, graphics lists are now available as well
• With the OP 73 and OP 73micro, a configurable help/alarm indicator can now also be employed as replacement for the LED
• Release of the USB driver for the operation of a keyboard at the OP 77B

MODBUS TCP/IP Driver
With the Service Pack 1, we are offering for the first time a MODBUS TCP/IP driver for all panels with integrated Ethernet interface as well as PCs with WinCC flexible Runtime. MODBUS TCP/IP enables the linking of SIMATIC HMI operator devices via Ethernet to the Schneider Automation PLCs TSX Unity Quantum, TSX Quantum, TSX Unity Premium, TSX Premium (TSX 57), TSX Micro (TSX 37) and Momentum. Via the Ethernet TCP/IP-MODBUS Plus Bridge from Schneider Automation, the SIMATIC HMI operator devices can also access the PLCs TSX Unity Quantum, TSX Quantum and TSX Compact of an underlying MODBUS PLUS subnetwork. Altogether up to four connections are possible from a SIMATIC HMI operator device.
