NCU system software, release 6.5 version 06.05.35 of SINUMERIK 840D/DE has been released and has been available since 12.05.2006. This version is an update release.

5. System interrelationships / secondary conditions:
 

System interrelationships:
- When using Step 7 version 5.3, the toolbox must be installed if projects (also PLC blocks) that contain the hardware components of the toolbox are to be processed.
- NCU *.4 with PLC 314C:
If master-slave configurations are used, then it is not permissible that the PLC 314C is used as slave. If such a configuration is required, then this must be realized using a CP module or an NCU *5.
- The function G643 "Internal block approximate positioning" has been released for applications in the tool change area (e.g. optimized approach to the tool change position) It has not been released for applications in the machining process.
- The FCUB and FLIN functions in conjunction with the COMPCAD compressor have not been released.
- NCU *.3: It is only permissible in an Emergency Off state to ramp-down the PCU 50 using the EXIT button if a PLC operating system <12.30.10 is used.
- NCU *.4: It is only permissible in an Emergency Off state to ramp-down the PCU 50 using the EXIT button if a PLC operating system <10.60.17 is used.
- For NCU 573.3 (6FC5357-0BB33-0AE2/-0AE3) it is no longer possible to simultaneously activate 10 channels and 31 axes.
The number is limited to eight channels. This restriction does not apply to the new type NCU 573.3 (6FC5357-0BB33-0AA_)
- For NCU 572.3 (6FC5357-0BB22-0AE0) and NCU 572.4 (6FC5357-0BB23-0AE0) with 31-axis SW, the number of channels is limited to 6. This restriction does not apply to the new types NCU 572.3 (6FC5357-0BB23-0AA_) and NCU 572.4 (6FC5357-0BB24-0AA_
- The number of axes including DMP block is limited to 31. If, for example, a DMP block is used for a 31 -axis SW, then 30 axes are possible.
