Technology CPU 317T-2 DP: Cross Slide / Single Belt Application
A two-dimensional positioning is to be performed for an application. A "cross slide" is to be used.
The characteristic feature of this mechanical arrangement is the minimization of the dynamic masses. The two drive units of the "cross slide" do not have to be moved for motion in the plane (XY). The dynamic mass of the "cross slide" is thus reduced to a minimum; this enables to achieve very high accelerations and velocities during the travel motion.
The task was realized by using a technology CPU and the "Move 3D" technology template in conjunction with the new "CS_GearIn" function block (CS=CrossSlide).
This entry is realized as an application example, but the "CS_GearIn" function block can, as in technology templates, be used for your own programs.
Function of FB "CS_GearIn":
FB "CS-GearIn" transforms the specified motion in the XY direction into the necessary rotary motions of the axes A1 and A2 of the cross slide. This enables to easily control this kinematics via the selection of the position in the XY plane.
