Use of raised front door for SIMATIC S7-300 modules

Description
You can use different front connectors for the wiring of SIMATIC S7-300 modules.
An overview is available in the FAQ response in Entry ID 23060726

Fig. 1 shows the raised front door of the S7-300 and the documents included in the delivery package.
These include the prepunched wiring diagrams for the inside of the front door and the sheets for individual labelling of the front side.

When wiring a 40-pin front connector of an S7-300 module, it might happen that there is not enough room to stow the cables. This might mean that you can no longer close the front door of the S7-300 module. This can be the case particularly if large cable cross-sections are being used (the American AWG cables in the USA, for example).

As a remedy, you can use the specially raised front door for the S7-300 modules.
In this way you can use cables with a cross-section of up to 1.3 mm²/16 AWG.

This raised door comes in three different versions:

  • Raised front door for Standard modules with article number: 6ES7 328-0AA00-7AA0
  • Raised front door for F modules with article number: 6ES7 328-7AA10-0AA0

  • Raised front door for Compact CPUs with article number: 6ES7 328-7AA20-0AA0
