MICROMASTER 4 (MM440), SINAMICS G120 (CU2x0x): What parameters do I have to set on an MM440 to give the same binary fixed frequency selection functionality as 6SE32?

This FAQ applies only to the SINAMICS G120/G120D Control Units without “-2” in the product name and MICROMASTER 4 inverters.

On the 6SE32 digital inputs 3, 4 and 5 (terminals 7, 8 and 16) are used to select up to 8 fixed frequencies. With the settings below the same terminals can be used to select up to 8 fixed frequencies on a MM440.
If an external 15V or 24V source is used for the signals to the inputs, on the MM440 terminal 28 is the 0V point that needs connecting to the 0V on the external supply, instead of terminal 2 on the 6SE32 ( do not connect 2 and 28 together unless the application specifically requires this).

We have to use FF8 to 15 on the MM440/G120, as FF0 is fixed at 0hz, and this does not comply with the requirement to select a non zero frequency when all 3 digital inputs are open.

Check P045 (inverse fixed setpoints for (FF 1-4) and P050 (inverse fixed setpoints for FF 5-8) on the 6SE32 to see if any fixed frequencies have been set to give reverse rotation. The corresponding fixed frequencies on the MM440/ G120 have to be set to a negative value to give reverse rotation.
