Description

The WINDOWS IMCEA driver permits direct addressing of hardware interfaces under a Microsoft Windows NT / Windows 2000 and Windows XP operating system. For this purpose the following physical I/O resources can be accessed via a C programming interface:

  • Memory-mapped I/Os, e.g. onboard SRAM of the SIMATIC Microbox PC 420
  • Port-based I/Os, e.g. onboard LEDs of the SIMATIC Microbox PC 420
  • Interrupts, e.g. interrupt processing in the case of changes on the monitored inputs of the digital I/O modules of the PC IO central I/O expansion

The WINDOWS IMCEA driver download provides you with two driver versions:

  • WINDOWS IMCEA (PnP): plug-and-play driver for Windows 2000 / XP
  • WINDOWS IMCEA (nPnP): non plug-and-play driver for Windows NT / 2000 / XP

To be able to use the plug-and-play version of the driver your computer requires a PCI/CPCI bus, or a PCI 104/PC104+ interface. The installation file for the plug-and-play driver included in the driver download supports the following I/O modules:

  • SICOMP CPCI-EA221

Version V1.6 and higher:

  • PC IO central I/O expansion for SIMATIC Microbox PC 420 consisting of the following components
    • PC IO BASE 400
    • PC IO MOD DIGITAL 010
    • PC IO MOD ANALOG 020
  • SICOMP CPCI-SFT200 (in the planing stage, based on PC IO BASE 400)
  • SICOMP CPCI-EAM220 (in the planing stage, based on PC IO MOD DIGITAL 010)
  • SICOMP CPCI-EAM230 (in the planing stage, based on PC IO MOD ANALOG 020)

The non plug-and-play driver enables direct access to the onboard resources of SIMATIC PCs and SICOMP IMC modules, e.g. onboard LEDs and onboard SRAM of the SIMATIC Microbox PC 420.

The driver download includes application examples for the use of both driver versions:

  • Non plug-and-play driver:
Application example for the control of onboard LEDs and onboard SRAM on the SIMATIC Microbox PC 420.
  • Plug-and-play driver:
Application examples for the control of components of the PC IO central I/O expansion for SIMATIC Microbox PC 420. Access to the analog and digital PC IO MOD modules incl. interrupt operation, as well as the evaluation of an encoder connected to a PC IO BASE module, are shown in three simple programming examples.
