SINAMICS STARTER can be used free of charge without entering a license key.

However, for legal licensing reasons, you should be in possession of a STARTER license certificate (any version). If this is not the case, you can also order the current STARTER version including license certificate on a DL-DVD. Article number: 6SL3072-0AA00-0AG0.

Installation procedure for STARTER V5.4 SP2 HF1

1. Download both  ZIP files.
2. Unpack the both ZIP files into a common target file folder on your hard disk. Please ensure that there are no spaces in the entire path name of this target file folders.
3. After unpacking, the common file folder must appear as follows:
   \...\CommonFileFolder\01_Readme\
   \...\CommonFileFolder\03_Manuals_SINAMICS_DCC\
   \...\CommonFileFolder\04_dcblib\
   \...\CommonFileFolder\HELP\
   \...\CommonFileFolder\InstData\
   \...\CommonFileFolder\Unsupported Tools\
4. Start the STARTER setup program by calling it from ..\SETUP.EXE.

Hotfix 2 for SINAMICS STARTER V5.4 SP2 HF1

For STARTER version V5.4 SP2 HF1, this hotfix 2 is provided as a so-called Add On Setup.

• Commissioning of third-party motors not possible as of Starter V5.4 HF2 with SINAMICS firmware V5.2 SP3
  Malfunction: When commissioning third-party motors, the "automatic calculation" P340 = 3 is automatically set when certain parameters are entered. When this is the case, other necessary parameters can no longer be entered and the configuration cannot be completed. (Error number: 213865)

• Possible computer crash of STARTER V5.4 SP2 HF1 during the function: Activate online mode (via VPN connection)
  Due to a certain SW component version, a computer crash (Windows blue screen) may occur when the online mode is activated. (Error number: 290912)

• Problem configuring multiple drive data sets with STARTER V5.4 SP SP2 HF1
  Drive no longer changes to Ready after the number of DDS is extended (Error number: 286520)

Important note:
After installing this Hotfix 2, you must reinstall the current SSP SINAMICS S120 (S150, G130, G150) V5.2 SP3 109477641 to ensure error-free selection of motors.

For this STARTER Hotfix 2, the OSS information of version V5.4 SP1 HF1 is still valid (see above).

Installation procedure:

1. Download the  ZIP file.
2. Unpack the ZIP file into a common target file folder on your hard disk. Please ensure that there are no spaces in the entire path name of this target file folder.
3. Start the STARTER setup program by calling it from ..VOL1\SETUP.EXE.

The installation runs automatically through the following phases:

• The setup checks your computer for an existing STARTER installation.

• If version V5.4 SP2 HF1 of the STARTER is found, Hotfix 2 will also be installed.

• If no STARTER version or another version is found, the setup is aborted.
