 Description:

Software requirements

Windows XP, 2003 Server, 2008 R2 Server, VISTA, Windows 7, Windows 10.

In order to work with the configuring software, you will need:

  • An installed version of STEP 7 Basic V5.3 or higher.

For other software requirements, refer to the STEP 7 product information.


Hardware requirements

In order to work with the CP PtP Param configuring interface, you will need:

  • Approximately 55 MB of additional space on your hard disk.
  • For other hardware requirements, refer to the STEP 7 product information.

Installation
Once the current software version is downloaded, the self-extracting Zip file must be unzipped. After the setup program is extracted, start it by double clicking the setup.exe file.

PtP Param V5.1 incl. SP15

Version V5.1 SP15 enables installation under STEP 7 V5.6. The requirements for installation of STEP 7 V5.6 apply.

STEP 7 Version V5.6 is a prerequisite for installing V5.1 SP15. For installation under STEP 7 V5.5 or earlier, use FM Configuration package V5.1 SP14.



PtP Param V5.1 incl. SP14

The features described below were added with the introduction of SP14 for "PtP-Param V5.1":

  • The use of the PtP-Param option package is now also possible under Windows 7 Enterprise / 64-bit with restricted user rights.


PtP Param V5.1 incl. SP13

With the introduction of SP13 for "PtP-Param V5.1" the features described below (for 6ES7 441-xAA05 modules) have been added:

  • The innovated CP441 modules (6ES7 441 1AA05-0AE0 and 6ES7 441 2AA05-0AE0) have been integrated in the parameter assignment interface.
  • The 6ES7 441-1AA05-0AE0 can be operated with additional data transmission rates: 57.6, 76.8 and 115.2 Kbps.
  • For the 6ES7 441-2AA05-0AE0, simultaneous operation of both interfaces with 115.2 Kbps each is possible (the previous limitation to a maximum total baud rate of 115.2 Kbps has been eliminated).
  • At a data transmission rate of 9600 bps, the smallest character delay time setting of 4 ms has been reduced to 2 ms.
  • At data transmission rates as of 19200 bps, the smallest character delay time setting of 2 ms has been reduced to 1 ms.
  • When RK512 is used, waiting period for response frames dependent on the baud rate can be configured.

All manuals are available in revised form in 6 languages.

PtP Param V5.1 incl. SP12

The features described below were added with the introduction of SP12 for "PtP-Param V5.1":

  • Installation now also possible under Windows 7 / 64-bit and Windows Server 2008 R2
  • Installation now also possible with use of "silent" options
  • If required, a current "EDB Component Setup" is also installed to ensure the correct text display of diagnostic messages in all STEP 7 versions.
  • Correction of the print function of PtP-Param: For RS422 applications, the selected operating mode (half duplex or full duplex) is now also correctly printed out.
  • All manuals are available in revised form in 6 languages.

PtP Param V5.1 incl. SP11

The features described below were added with the introduction of SP11 for "PtP-Param V5.1":

General:

  • The data throughput has been optimized for the CP341-V2 (FW version V2.1.0 and higher). To benefit from the optimization, the parameter assignment data for the CP341 V2 (FW version V2.1.0 or higher) with PtP-Param V5.1 + SP11 must be created again.
  • Correction to the parameter assignment of the printer driver: the baud rates 57,600 and 76,800 were swapped.
  • PtP-Param can now also be run without limitations under STEP 7 V5.4 + SP5 (without s7otbldx.dll).
  • Manuals of the CP340 are available in revised form.
  • Manuals and Getting Started instructions of the CP341 are available in revised form.
  • Chinese manuals are now also available for CP440 and CP441.

PtP Param V5.1 incl. SP10

The features described below were added with the introduction of SP10 for "PtP-Param V5.1":

General:

  • It is now also possible to download special drivers to a CP341 with operation downstream of an S7-400 H System
  • Regardless of the presence of any other option packages, PtP-Param is now displayed again in the preset STEP 7 language.
  • The performance of the FB7 V3.2 (P_RCV_RK) and FB8 V3.2 (P_SND_RK) blocks has been optimized
  • The Chinese manual for the CP340 is available in revised form.
  • Getting Started and manuals are also available in Chinese language for the CP341

PtP Param V5.1 incl. SP9

The features described below were added with the introduction of SP9 for "PtP-Param V5.1":

For 6ES7341-1xH02-0AE0 (x = A, B, C):

  • Firmware update 6ES7341-1xH02-0AE0 via standard mechanisms of HW Config
  • Additional "Protocol" printer driver available
  • Additional Baud rate of 115.2 Kbaud can be selected
  • Expansion of maximum frame length to 4 bytes
  • Waiting time for response frames dependent on the baud rate can be set for RK512 protocol
  • Extended error display can be set at the receive FB
  • "Delete CP receive buffer at startup" function in the "Data reception" folder can be selected for the ASCII protocol
  • Corrected blocks FB7 V3.1 (P_RCV_RK) and FB8 V3.1 (P_SND_RK) in block library s7libs and in example project zXX21_01 (4 Kbytes)
  • New block FB13 V1.0 (P_PRT341) as user interface to printer driver in block library s7libs
  • New example "CP 341 Printing" in zXX21_01
  • CP341 - Documentation, user interface and online help also in Spanish

General:

  • Firmware update CP441 now also possible for baud rates >= 1.5 Mbps and in CR2
  • CP340 - Documentation also in Chinese

PtP Param V5.1 incl. SP8

The features described below have been added:

  • PtP Param V5.1+SP8 can also be installed under Windows VISTA.
  • With the new standard function blocks FB7 (P_RCV_RK) and FB8 (P_SND_RK) in Version 3.0, the CP341 can now also be operated downstream of an IM153-4 PN IO if it is connected to a PROFINET interface integrated in the CPU.

PtP Param V5.1 incl. SP7

The following changes have been made:

  • Automatic appending of end-of-text characters could not be configured with CP341. As of SP7, end-of-text characters can now also be appended automatically for the CP341.

  • Importing message text files (printer driver CP441) was limited to a maximum of 1100 messages. As of SP7, up to 4000 messages are imported from a message text file. In addition, the maximum length of the message text file name was limited to 8 characters.

  • In connection with function blocks FB9 V1.1 (RECV_440) and FB10 V1.1 (SEND_440), which have also been adapted, a maximum frame length of 400 bytes can now be used for the CP440 (previously 200 bytes). To use this feature in an old configuration, the relevant CP440 must be deleted and reconfigured.

  • The restart characteristics of the CPU341 in distributed operation (especially when used in H systems) has been corrected by a change in function blocks FB7 V2.2 (P_RCV_RK) and FB8 V2.7 (P_SND_RK) of the CP341. When power was restored or the module was pulled/plugged, the interrupted communication was not automatically re-established.

PtP Param V5.1 incl. SP6

The following changes have been made:

  • The innovated CP441 modules (6ES7 441 1AA04-0AE0 and 6ES7 441 2AA04-0AE0) have been integrated into the parameter assignment interface.
  • Automatic appending of end-of-text characters has been enabled (again).
  • The maximum number of message texts has been increased from 999 to 3999 for the printer driver.
  • The use of the RK512 protocol and the special Modbus slave driver (together with PUT/GET) in combination with the required HSP enables the choice of the following responses when a CPU Stop is detected: either continue working (same as before) or refuse requests received from the partner with an error message.
  • In addition, the CP440-specific user interface is now also available in Italian.
  • The CP441 manual is now also available in Spanish.
  • Special drivers can now also be used with Japanese STEP 7.
  • The user interface is now correctly displayed in the corresponding national language.

Function block FB8 "P_SND_RK" for the CP341 has be corrected as described below:

  • P_SND_RK in Version 2.6:
    Correction of a restart problem after restoring power or pulling/plugging the module

PtP Param V5.1 incl. SP5

The following changes have been made:

  • The innovated CP340 modules (6ES7 340 1AH02-0AE0, 6ES7 340 1BH02-0AE0 and 6ES7 340 1CH02-0AE0) have been integrated in the parameter assignment interface.
  • In addition, the user interface can now also be run without limitations under user rights.
  • The CP340 manual, the user interface and the online help is now also available in Spanish.


The function blocks for the CP340 have been revised and supplemented as described below:

  • P_RCV, P_SEND and P_PRINT in Version 2.0:
    With these revised FBs, the CP340 modules can now also be used downstream of an IE/PB Link (prepared for use with PROFINET IO)
    The "old FBs" remain in the block LIB under another number so that users with old CPUs (*) in which
    SFBs 52/53 (RDREC/WRREC) are not yet implemented can still at least work with the old FB versions!

  • P_RESET in Version 1.0:
    With this new FB the receive buffer of a CP340 (6ES7 340-1xH02-0AE0 or higher) can be deleted.

PtP Param V5.1 incl. SP4

The following changes have been made:

  • CP340 parameter assignment interface
    • When product version 08 of the CP340 HW is used at the same time, the BREAK evaluation can now be disabled in all HW variants (RS232, TTY, RS422/RS485).
    • When product version 08 of the CP340 HW (RS422/RS485) is used at the same time, it is now possible to choose between "R(A) 5V / R(B) 0V" and "R(A) 0V / R(B) 5V" for the receive line initial state setting for the "3964(R)" and "Printer" protocols.

  • CP340 FB2 (P_RCV, Version 1.2)
    • When product version 08 of the CP340 HW is used at the same time, an error has been eliminated when data is received from a destination DB that is not present or is too short.
      The "old" FB2 (P_RCV, Version 1.1) remains in the block LIB as "FB1" so that users with old CPUs that cannot yet handle SFC24 (TEST_DB) (manufactured before 1998) can at least use the old FB2 version (without TEST_DB).

  • CP440 and CP441 / All standard FBs and FCs / example projects
    Because of the new features described below, all standard FBs and FCs for CP440 and CP441 had to be re-compiled:
    CFC V5.2 and higher provides system support for preventing causes of CPU STOP. When the program is compiled and downloaded, checks and analyses are performed (of local data requirement, call hierarchy, etc.) whose purpose is to help prevent CPU STOP causes when the program is being downloaded to the online CPU. Downloading is prevented when these causes are detected. For automatic generation of module drivers, the MSG_CSF block is inserted in the system chart so that the error OBs can be generated and downloaded to the AS in the CFC. This enables a reaction to different error causes and prevention of a CPU Stop. This is used in PCS 7 V5.1 or higher.

    To prevent "time stamp conflicts", all example projects for CP440 and CP441 also had to be re-compiled after introduction of the new standard FBs and FCs.

  • CP340 / CP341 / CP440 / CP441 / example projects
    The names of the supplied example projects have been adapted to the valid specifications (zXX21_01_PtP_Com_CP34x, zXX21_02_PtP_Com_CP440, zXX21_03_PtP_Com_CP441)

PtP Param V5.1 incl. SP3

The following changes have been made:

  • CP340 / FB3 (P_SEND, Version 1.2) and FB4 (P_PRINT, Version 1.1)
    In the old versions of FB3 and FB4, there were absolute accesses to DIW4. FB3 and FB4 are now finally multi-instance capable. FB2 already had this capability in the old version.

  • CP341 / FB8 (P_SND_RK, Version 2.5)
    The error in connection with software redundancy when the CP341 is operated on the active backplane bus with IM153-2 has been eliminated.

  • CP340 and CP341 / All standard FBs and FCs / example projects
    Because of the new features described below, all standard FBs and FCs for CP340 and CP341 had to be re-compiled:
