Description:

Software requirements
To work with the CP PtP Modbus-Slave RTU software  you require the following:

  • An installed version of STEP 7 Basic V5.3 or higher.
  • An installed version of the Point-to-Point Connection Parameter Assignment optional software package ( CP PtP Param ) V5.1 or higher.

The PtP Param software is available for download at entry ID  27013524

Hardware requirements

To work with the configuration software of the loadable driver CP PtP Modbus-Slave RTU  you require the following:

  • Approx. 5 Mbytes of additional memory on your hard drive.
  • Please refer to the STEP 7 Product Information for further hardware requirements
  • The following modules are supported:
    CP 341
    CP 441-2
  • The loadable driver CP PtP Modbus-Slave version V3.1.3 and higher can only be operated on a CP441-2 with order number 6ES7 441-2AA03-0AE0 and higher.
  • The new parameter "Suppress Exception Code Message Frame" is now supported on the CP441-2 with order number 6ES7 441-2AA05-0AE0 and higher. 

Installation
After you have downloaded the current software version you must first unpack the self-extracting Zip archive. After unpacking, start the Setup program by double-clicking the file setup.exe.

Together with STEP7 V5.6, the new version V3.1.10 now supports Win10.


Loadable Driver Modbus Slave (RTU) V3.1+SP9

The introduction of the SP9 for "Modbus Slave (RTU) V3.1" will result in the following additions  / improvements:

  • By default, if the CPU is in STOP mode, the Modbus slave will respond to a request message frame from the Modbus master with an error mesage frame. When used on a CP441-2 with order number 6ES7 441-2AA05-0AE0 and higher, the parameter "Suppress Exception Code Message Frame" can be employed to prevent that during STOP of the CPU this error mesage frame is sent in response to a request message frame from a non-Siemens master.
  • If the FB180 is newly initialled by the user by setting the input CP_START and resetting the input CP_START_FM, while processing a FC5 (Force Single Coil from Master), the FB180 will continuously signal ERROR_NR: 02. This issue has been corrected with the new FB180 (V1.5 and higher).

 

Loadable Driver Modbus Slave (RTU) V3.1+SP8

The introduction of the SP8 for "Modbus Slave (RTU) V3.1" will result in the following additions  / improvements:

  • Can also be installed under Windows 7 / 64 Bit and Windows Server 2008 R2
  • Can also be installed if the option "silent" is used
  • If required, an updated "EDB Component Setup" will also be installed to ensure the correct text representation of diagnostic messages for all STEP 7 versions.

The introduction of the SP7 for "Modbus Slave (RTU) V3.1" will result in the following additions  / improvements:

  • Normal operation now also possible in the operating mode half duplex (RS485) two-wire operation
  • Revised online help system (German, English and French)
  • Revised manuals (German, English and French)
  • Revised readmes (German, English and French). 

 

Loadable Driver Modbus Slave (RTU) V3.1+SP6

The introduction of the SP6 for "Modbus Slave (RTU) V3.1" implicates the following supplements / revisions:

  • Supplement of the baud rate 115200 for CP341-V2 as of edition 1xH02
  • Supplement of the Chinese manuals
  • Revised readmes (German, English and French)
  • Revised manuals (German and English)
  • Revised Modbus Slave FB for the CP341 (FB80 V1.5). The input parameter CP_NDR is now set each time a Modbus Master accesses in writing mode.
  • Revised example Modbus Slave 300 (zXX21_05)

 

Loadable Driver Modbus Slave (RTU) V3.1+SP5


By introducing the SP5 for "Modbus Slave (RTU) V3.1" the feature described below has been added:

  • Modbus Slave (RTU) V3.1+SP5 can also be installed under Windows VISTA.

  • error after receiving incorrect signals in RS485 operation (half duplex) has been corrected
  • error when initializing RS232 communication has been corrected  
  • error in the "Modbus Slave 400" (CP441) sample project has been corrected

 

Loadable Driver Modbus Slave (RTU) V3.1+SP3
  • also "outgoing" BREAKs are now entered in the diagnostic buffer
  • after enabling, a diagnostic interrupt is triggered for "incoming" BREAKs
  • Txd and Rxd LED triggering is now compliant with the system (character related)
  • the driver can now be operated with baud rates of 57.600 bauds (CP341 and CP441) and of 115.200 bauds (CP441)
  • problems with automatic operation of the V24 secondary signals in connection with interrupted transmission path have been corrected
  • the MODBUS slaves FBs 80 (CP341) and 180 (CP441) now have multi-instance capability
  • the MODBUS slave FB 80 (CP341) now requires less local data memory (174 bytes) 
  • the name of the installed example project is now compliant with the system (zXX21_05_PtP_Com_MODSL)
