Why does the installation of WinAC RTX 2005 (SP1) and of WinAC RTX 2008 abort?
When installing WinAC RTX 2005 and WinAC RTX 2008 on SIMATIC PCs of the "B" generation with Intel Celeron processor and preinstalled Microsoft Windows XP Professional or XP embedded operating system, the following installation fault occurs:
A slightly changed message (e.g. RTX 8.1) appears in the case of the WinAC RTX 2008.
A querying of the system HAL is integrated in the installation routine of the WinAC RTX 2005 and WinAC RTX 2008. If an ACPI HAL multiprocessor is read out on a Celeron-based system, this leads to abortion of the installation.
In order to be able to use WinAC RTX2005 or RTX 2008 on a Celeron-based system, you must replace the HAL multiprocessor with a HAL uniprocessor. For this, proceed as follows for Windows XP Professional and Windows XP embedded.
|1||Extract the relevant ZIP file to a new folder.
HAL-Utility_XP.zip ( 6545 KB )
HAL-Utility_XP_embedded.zip ( 11529 KB )
|2||Start the extracted Setup file and follow the instructions on the screen.|
|3||Install WinAC RTX 2005 or WinAC RTX 2008 as appropriate.|
