How to get a device overview

Using the application TIA Selection Tool you can obtain a list of all the SIMATIC HMI operator panels that have a certification for the Explosion Protection Zone 22 and Explosion Protection Zone 2. The following steps show you how to use TIA Selection Tool for this purpose.

  1. Select "New Device":TIA Selection Tool – New Device
  2. Click the "Panels" button.

  3. Click the "Filter devices" button.

  4. Click the "Explosion protection approvals" button (1).
    Then check the boxes for the desired certificates (2+3).
    Click "Apply" (4).

  5. TIA Selection Tool now shows you a list of all the SIMATIC HMI operator panels (Panels tab) that have the selected approvals.

How to find existing certificates for your operator panel

A precise search for certificates available for HMI operator panels is available at the following link in our Online Support Portal:

You can further refine this search by selecting the approval office or country.

Check the explosion protection ID on the back of the device before installing the operator panel. Panels mentioned in the certificate should not be used automatically in the hazardous areas with potentially explosive atmosphere. What counts here is the ID on the back of the device.

With the following link to the recording tool you can generate a csv file which contains all the available SIPLUS extreme HMIs and SIPLUS extreme IPCs and their certificates.

Under "Filters" you enter the following product families:

  • HMI KP
  • HMI KP F
  • HMI KTP
  • HMI TP
  • IPC
Under "Selection" you select the function "Save as siplus csv".

The following ZIP file contains an example of a SIPLUS csv file with the filters specified above:
