Interdependence of size, output and torque

What is the relationship between size, output and torque?

The spatial dimensions of an electrical machine are primarily determined by the torque.

Machines with the same torque have approximately the same dimensions.

The output of a machine is calculated as follows:

 in [kW]

 in [Nm]

 in [1/min]

It follows from this that machines with the same output have different torques at different speeds and therefore different dimensions as well.

Motors with high speeds have smaller dimensions and are therefore lighter than motors of the same output with low speeds.
