How do you use a flash card to download the safety program to a fail-safe CPU S7-400?

Description:
Because the CPUs S7-300 and S7-400 have different storage concepts, there are different procedures for loading the safety program. This entry describes the procedure for using

a fail-safe CPU S7-400 with memory card (flash card)
and the Distributed Safety option software.

You have two options for loading the safety program.

Option 1: Write to the memory card in the CPU

No.	Procedure	Notes / Explanation
1	Make sure that there are no more blocks in the CPU's internal load memory.	You can do this by resetting the CPU.
2	Switch off the CPU's power supply.
3	Slot the memory card into the CPU.
4	Switch on the CPU's power supply.
5	Connect your PG/PC with the CPU.	In the SIMATIC Manager you can check the interface set via Tools -> PG/PC Interface.
6	Select the block container in the SIMATIC Manager. Fig. 01
7	In the SIMATIC Manager menu you select PLC -> Load user program to memory card	Before copying, make sure that your safety program has a consistent signature. The action is only possible in the STOP mode. All blocks and system data are written to the memory card; the safety program must always be on the flash card used. It is not possible to load individual F blocks; the procedure described here applies.

Option 2: Write to the memory card with USB prommer outside the CPU

No.	Procedure	Notes / Explanation
1	Slot the memory card into the USB prommer.
2	In the SIMATIC Manager menu you select File -> S7 Memory Card -> Open
3	Position the windows of your project and the memory card next to each other. Copy the block container to the memory card (e.g. using drag-and-drop).	Before copying, make sure that your safety program has a consistent signature. All blocks and system data are written to the memory card; the safety program must always be on the flash card used. It is not possible to load individual F blocks; the procedure described here applies.

4	Close the "S7 Memory Card" window.
5	Slot the memory card into the CPU that is without voltage.	You can commission the CPU.

Proceed as follows to check whether your safety program has a consistent signature.

2	In the SIMATIC Manager menu you select Tools-> Edit safety program
