Which SIMATIC HMI operator panels and Industry PCs have a shipbuilding certificate?
Before installing a SIMATIC HMI panel or Industry PC, you should note whether the device is listed in the certificate and whether type-specific changes have to be made. Without this change the device does not have a certificate for shipbuilding.
1. Information about the shipbuilding certificate
The classification societies are responsible for classifying ships. A ship must be classified before it can sail for the merchant navy and before it can be insured along with its cargo. SIMATIC HMI Panels are certified by the following classification societies.
|ABS||American Bureau of Shipping||USA|
|DNV||Det Norske Veritas||Norway|
|LRS||LIoyd's Register of Shipping||Great Britain|
|NK||Nippon Kaiji Kyokai||Japan|
|PRS||Polski Rejestr Statków||Poland|
|RINA||Registro Italiano Navale||Italy|
|RMRS||Russian Maritime Register of Shipping||Russia|
|CCS||China Classification Society||China|
New certificates are DNV-GL certificates. A distinction is made between DNV and GL notified bodies.
2. Current HMI panels with shipbuilding certificate
The following panels have been certified by various shipbuilding classification societies.
Note that in some panels, for example, an additional EMC filter or even lightning protection is required for the power supply for these panels to be certified. Details about shipbuilding certification are available in the relevant certificates.
