Data Communication between S7-1200 and SENTRON PAC3200 via MODBUS TCP (Set 22)
With the help of the Modbus/TCP protocol, data can be exchanged between one or several Modbus/TCP devices using an Ethernet connection. This application example describes the data exchange of an S7-1200 controller with one or several SENTRON PAC3200 type power management devices based on the Modbus/TCP protocol. The effective power absorbed of several street lamps is to be read out deterministically and the total energy consumption is to be calculated.
The deterministic communication enables the data exchange with SENTRON PAC3200 one after the other, via one connection. The application offers the visualization via a Basic Panel KTP700 2nd generation. Power limit violations as well as communication breakdowns per SENTRON PAC3200 are to be recorded in a message buffer with time stamp for maintenance purposes.
