Description
The backup battery of your SIMATIC IPC or SIMATIC Field PG is for maintaining basic function in the case of a power failure.

If the battery starts to run out, the diagnostics software SIMATIC IPCDiagMonitor or SIMATIC IPC DiagBase issues a diagnostics measure in good time before the battery runs out completely.

Remedy
In order to restore the function of the backup battery, you must replace the used battery with a new one.

When you disconnect the device from the power supply for replacing the backup battery, you must save the current BIOS settings in the BIOS Setup under "Save User Profile". After replacing the backup battery, you restore the settings you have just saved via "Load User Profile".
