PLCSIM - New Version V5.0 with New Order No.
The S7-PLCSIM simulation software for PLCs is now available with version V5.0.
S7-PLCSIM permits a functional test of the PLC program logic on a PG/PC without any S7 hardware. Version 5.0 offers new functions and supports the Windows 95 / 98 / Me / NT4.0 and 2000 operating systems. An upgrade package to version 5.0 is available.
Product description of PLCSIM V5.0
The S7-PLCSIM optional software package permits a functional test of user blocks on a PG/PC, independently of the real S7 hardware being available. The software simulates a non-specific S7 CPU with the associated process I/O images. S7-PLCSIM can be used for user blocks with a large selection of supported CPU system functions. The operator input as viewed from STEP 7 or from the engineering tool is equal to that of a real S7 CPU. For instance, S7-PLCSIM offers an operator desktop for the testing functions of STEP 7 and the engineering tools, that allows changing and the display of process values (I/Os, bit memories, etc.). S7-PLCSIM can be used with all S7 programming languages: LAD/FBD/STL, S7-GRAPH, S7-HiGraph, S7-SCL and CFC.
In addition, S7-PLCSIM provides a programming interface (S7ProSim). With this, the user can reproduce his process in PLCSIM. The API interface is based on ActiveX-Controls. It enables the required process variables to be dynamically simulated with all Windows applications supporting the active X technology (e.g. Microsoft Visual Basic or Microsoft Excel). More detailed information is available from the manuals, which you can download free of charge. S7-PLCSIM User Manual: Entry ID 1139071 and S7-PLCSIM Programming Interface Manual: Entry ID 1139855
NEW in PLCSIM V5.0
Record/playback of testing functions
You can record your activities in sub-windows of S7-PLCSIM when you change the values of inputs, outputs and internal bit memories, or reset timers, for instance. The records can be played back to test the functioning of your program in S7-PLCSIM.
Sub-window "Vertical bits"
The absolute and symbolic addresses of the individual bits are displayed in vertical format. They specify a memory type for the variable:
è Internal bit memory
New data types
Two new data types are available in S7-PLCSIM:
è DT (DATE_AND_TIME)
New methods to execute a number of cycles in S7ProSim
è With the method ExecuteNmsScan you can specify an execution time in S7ProSim. This time will be rounded off by S7-PLCSIM to a number of cycles.
è With the method ExecuteNScans you can specify a number
of cycles in S7ProSim to be executed.
Support of OB102 (cold start) and the fault-tolerant H systems
S7-PLCSIM now supports the following functionality of the target system:
è OB102 (cold start)
è Fault-tolerant H systems (OB70, OB72, OB73, SFC14, SFC15, SFC90, SFB8, SFB9)
