Solution
This application example explains how to calculate the Performance Level for an axis subject to the force of gravity, based on the EN ISO 13849 standard.
The following cases are taken into consideration:

  • When the protective doors are open, an axis subject to the force of gravity is in the safe operating stop condition
  • When the protective doors are open, an axis subject to the force of gravity is traversed with an acknowledgment button and with a safely reduced velocity
  • Holding an axis subject to the force of gravity when the power fails
  • Stopping an axis subject to the force of gravity in an emergency (Emergency Stop)
